Exposure to education and opportunity is fundamentally based and proportional to the ability of a community to provide basic needs. With basic needs, a child's journey can now lead to a path of self-sustainment. In return, the now adult has a responsibility to invest back into the IBTU program. IBTU's programming efforts are to raise raise awareness and funds for existing organizations who are 'subject matter experts' in providing this path to self sustainment.
We believe that, by investing in the next generation, fosters social movements that cultivate a solution focused culture. We believe social change can be accomplished by identifying those ideas, causes, social movements, which formulate what the majority sees as the impetus to change behavior. We can impact the direction of a greater cause in such a way that creates lasting change, by understanding what motivates a few, and translate that affect to motivate the general masses.
Malcolm Gladwell, author of 'The Tipping Point', says "What must underlie successful epidemics, in the end, is a bedrock belief that change is possible, that people can radically transform their behavior or beliefs in the face of the right kind of impetus."
It's Bigger Than You strives to define that impetus by working through and creating social networks locally, and communicating in a way that sustains long lasting change in behavior and permanent solutions.
